North Carolina definitely boasts some talented and wonderful authors. In the North Carolina YA world, we have the following who represent us well:
I'm sure I'm missing names. I would love to know of other North Carolina Young Adult authors! Leave me a comment if you know of more!
North Carolina is divided into three regions: Coastal, Piedmont, and Mountain.

Charlotte...my area! I live in the next city just west of Charlotte, but this is the skyline I see while driving around and where we go for any good entertainment.

Nantahala River & the Biltmore Estate are 2 popular sites to visit in the mountains.
Now, for the giveaway...errr...giveaways! I will be giving away a YA book to represent each of our beautiful regions.
Coastal Region:
Kure Beach & Wilmington, NC -- Our favorite vacation spots!
Piedmont Region:
Each state has their own college rivalry. Our biggest is Duke vs. UNC. It's insane here during game seasons, but especially basketball. Picture borrowed from here.

Hmm... I clicked the link about the Mast Store... trying to get a feel of it. It is kind of like a nostalgia store? The website gives you the warm fuzzies as you read about stuff from yesteryear. ;)
ReplyDeleteHow fun... I want to go there so bad. I've known a few people who have been stationed there because of the military and they have always liked it.
ReplyDeleteI am hosting Utah soon!!

How the heck did I not know Sarah Dessen lives in Chapel Hill? Now I'm really ashamed I've never read anything by her. :(
ReplyDeleteI have never been to North Carolina, only South Carolina. Thanks for the great post and participating in the hop!
