Frigid Cover Reveal - Jennifer L. Armentrout/J. Lynn

Sooo, my lovely readers, I have another EXCITING cover reveal for you! We thought we were going to be revealing Jennifer's last novel of the Covenant Series, Sentinel, but noooo! She tricked us and gave us another great cover.

What I have for you today is...
For twenty-one-year-old Sydney, being in love with Kyler isn't anything new. They'd been best friends ever since he pushed her down on the playground and she made him eat a mud pie. Somewhere over the years, she fell for him and fell hard. The big problem with that? Kyler puts the 'man' in man-whore. He's never stayed with a girl longer than a few nights, and with it being their last year in college, Syd doesn't want to risk their friendship by declaring her love.

Kyler has always put Syd on a pedestal that was too high for him to reach. To him, she's perfect and she's everything. But the feelings he has for her, he's always hidden away or focused on any other female. After all, Kyler will always be the poor boy from the wrong side of tracks, and Syd will always be the one girl he can never have.

But when they're stranded together at a posh ski resort due to a massive Nor'easter, there's nothing stopping their red-hot feelings for each other from coming to the surface. Can their friendship survive the attraction? Better yet, can they survive at all? Because as the snow falls, someone is stalking them, and this ski trip may be a life-changer in more ways than one.

  • Frigid will be available in digital formats on July 30th 2013
  • Print release of Frigid will be November 5th 2012

Jennifer writes young adult paranormal, science fiction, fantasy, and contemporary romance. She is published with Spencer Hill Press, Entangled Teen and Brazen, Disney/Hyperion and Harlequin Teen.

Poison Review

Author: Bridget Zinn
Source: NetGalley (Thank you Disney Book group!!!)
Purchase POISON: Amazon / B&N / BAM / TBD
Challenge: Standalone Reading Challenge

Goodreads Summary & Cover
Sixteen-year-old Kyra, a highly-skilled potions master, is the only one who knows her kingdom is on the verge of destruction—which means she’s the only one who can save it. Faced with no other choice, Kyra decides to do what she does best: poison the kingdom’s future ruler, who also happens to be her former best friend.

But, for the first time ever, her poisoned dart . . . misses.

Now a fugitive instead of a hero, Kyra is caught in a game of hide-and-seek with the king’s army and her potioner ex-boyfriend, Hal. At least she’s not alone. She’s armed with her vital potions, a too-cute pig, and Fred, the charming adventurer she can’t stop thinking about. Kyra is determined to get herself a second chance (at murder), but will she be able to find and defeat the princess before Hal and the army find her?

Kyra is not your typical murderer, and she’s certainly no damsel-in-distress—she’s the lovable and quick-witted hero of this romantic novel that has all the right ingredients to make teen girls swoon.
My Thoughts
To begin, let me say how cute this book was and that I really enjoyed each page! Also, note the pig on the cover. I didn't even notice it until I added the picture to this post! You will LOVE the pig!

Along with the pig, Rosie, you will also love the other characters. Kyra is out to save the kingdom and trying to keep away from the ever-adorable Fred so he doesn't find out who she is and what she has done.

The potion making, witches, gypsies, and even the really bad guy were all interesting.

The first half of the book, you journey with Kyra and meet Fred. She's always trying to get away from him. The way they keep bumping into one another is just humorous! His nickname for her is even more hilarious, especially with the reason behind it.

The second half of the book, the plot thickens. What you think is happening and what had happened just tossed you for a loop. I love that this book did that. A step like that in a story can some times be infuriating, but it completely worked for this story!

The ending and the revealing were pure perfection. As the summary states, this is definitely a book to make teen girls swoon. It was enough to make this grown woman grin and say, "Awww..." a lot!

Definitely pick it up and read it. You won't regret it!

My Rating
It is so amazing that this book was published by Disney after the author's passing. So sad to read that about her, but happy for her husband to see one of her dreams come to be.

Scott Tracey is a YA author who lived on a Greyhound for a month, wrote his illustrated autobiography at the age of six, and barely survived Catholic school (and definitely not for the reasons you might think).

He is the author of WITCH EYES, chosen as one of Amazon’s Best LGBT Books of 2011, as well as an ALA Popular Paperback in the Forbidden Romance category.  The final book in the WITCH EYES trilogy, PHANTOM EYES, will be released in the fall of 2013.

He is also the author of MOONSET, a new series which will be released April 8, 2013, as well as a contributor to the SHADOWHUNTERS & DOWNWORLDERS anthology, edited by Cassandra Clare.

His career highlights include: accidentally tripping a panic alarm which led to nearly being shot by the police; attacked in a drive-thru window by a woman wielding a baked potato, and once moving cross country for a job only to quit on the second day.

His gifts can be used for good or evil, but rather than picking a side, he strives for BOTH (in alternating capacity) for his own amusement.

A Tale of Two Centuries by Rachel Harris - Cover Reveal, Excerpt, and Giveaway!

A TALE OF TWO CENTURIES Summary & Cover Reveal!
Alessandra D’Angeli is in need of an adventure. Tired of her sixteenth-century life in Italy and homesick for her time-traveling cousin, Cat, who visited her for a magical week and dazzled her with tales of the future, Alessandra is lost. Until the stars hear her plea.

One mystical spell later, Alessandra appears on Cat’s Beverly Hills doorstep five hundred years in the future. Surrounded by confusing gadgets, scary transportation, and scandalous clothing, Less is hesitant to live the life of a twenty-first century teen…until she meets the infuriating—and infuriatingly handsome—surfer Austin Michaels. Austin challenges everything she believes in…and introduces her to a world filled with possibility.

With the clock ticking, Less knows she must live every moment of her modern life while she still can. But how will she return to the drab life of her past when the future is what holds everything she’s come to love?
“That’s some sexy accent you have there.” Austin says in a hushed voice—but not that hushed. A few people around us snicker at my evident discomfort, which of course only serves to spur Austin on more. “Italian, right? Mmm. Say something else—how do you say blush in Italian?”

When I ignore him, he says, “You sure do have that rosy glow going on. Normally I have to work harder to inspire something like that. Like what you see, Princess?”

“D-don’t call me that,” I stammer, blushing all the more from his brazen question and the swift resurgence of energy in my veins. “And I do not blush.”

That earns me a wink. “Sure you don’t.”

Austin looks to the front of the room and I follow his gaze. The teacher has her back turned, drawing what appears to be a map of sorts on the white board. My eyes flick to the large clock mounted on the wall. Class is nearly over, and I have managed to follow exactly nothing of the lecture.

Alas, my experience thus far as a modern day student has not been exemplary.

Though I do not wish Austin to know the effect he has on me, I cannot keep my eyes from snapping back. And when I do, I find him practically in my seat. His long torso is stretched across the aisle, and his face is ever so close to mine. Warm breath fans across my cheeks and I catch the scent of mint.

This must be what rage feels like.

Austin says, “It’s too bad that wasn’t a blush. I thought it was kinda hot.” A shocked puff of air and saucer-like eyes are my only response—having learned from Cat’s list of words the double meaning of the word hot—and the left side of Austin’s mouth lifts in a smile of victory. He settles back in his own seat and reinserts his ear buds. The pen tapping begins again, only this time louder and with more force.

I raise my chin and stare straight ahead, vowing to keep my eyes from straying to the ill-mannered jerk beside me for the rest of class. I count the seconds in time with his taps.

I do believe I hate Austin Michaels.
About Rachel Harris
As a teen, Rachel Harris threw raging parties that shook her parents’ walls and created embarrassing fodder for future YA novels. As an adult, she reads and writes obsessively, rehashes said embarrassing fodder, and dreams up characters who become her own grown up version of imaginary friends.

When she's not typing furiously or flipping pages in an enthralling romance, you can find her homeschooling her two beautiful princesses, hanging out with her amazing husband, or taking a hot bubble bath…next to a pile of chocolate. A Tale of Two Centuries is her second novel.
Last, but certainly not least...
